Area Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Vehicles, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a statement.
Officers report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.
The fluid had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then found multiple other vandalized vehicles and residential walls in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws banning the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement report preliminary tests show the substance was most likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no indication as to its origin; authorities are not yet informed of any harm in connection with the occurrence," they stated.
City officials said they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have appealed to the residents for tips.
An important political figure commented the attack left him speechless and needed to be solved promptly.
"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing terrorist attack half a decade ago," he wrote on a platform, recalling the death of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at residents of migrant background in February 2020.
