Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt

A resurgent Medvedev won his first trophy for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid period, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in specific - led to him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-time mentor his previous coach.

Currently working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's initial trophy following the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt from March of 2023.

Victory also signifies the Russian has won 21 titles at 21 various events.

"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my children at once, so to win a title is really nice," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, comprising in that event previously this season.

Medvedev's defensive approach and recurring reactions on the tennis court had caused observers to question if his skill to play at the highest level was concluded.

Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to approach the net and play aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serve.

He came back from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, securing 4 of the concluding five games to take the lead.

The pair swapped service breaks in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his first tour title, gained dominance to create a final set.

He saved four initial opportunities in a close final set before the Russian won the break to 15 to secure the win.

Appropriately, the winner earned the title with a rally at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to handle a return after a lengthy match.
